Boca Raton, Fla. -
Pinnacle Speakers is replacing its reference speaker line with a new line of
eight in-room speakers priced from $159 each to $2,000 each.
select models start in June, with other models shipping in the coming months
The Black Diamond
II series replaces the original Black Diamond series and features satellites, LCRs
and floorstanding towers. All feature black piano lacquer finish.
With the launch,
the company is expanding the series to new lower and higher price points, said senior
marketing coordinator Arin Roos.
"We've really worked
to stay true to our philosophy of excellence at affordable prices," he said.
"We've added to both ends of the spectrum with a new starting point in the line
at $159 each for the BD 100 satellite, where previously the entry point was
$499. And, at the high end, we've maxed the line out at $4,000 for a pair of BD
2000 Series II towers, where it had been capped at $3,000 [per pair] before."
Compared to their
predecessors, the new models extend bass and treble range for improved tonal
balance and accuracy, feature curved cabinets in most models for a new look, and
use low- resonance cabinets for deeper and tighter bass response. In other
changes, the new models feature die-cast phase plugs on woofer and midrange
drivers to suppress harmonic resonance and thus deliver more detailed accurate
response, the company said. The new models also add silk-dome tweeters with neodymium
All new models are
timbre-matched so they can be mixed and matched to create a home theater
speaker system. They also come with a 12-year warranty, up from 10 years.
The line's models
are the $159-each BD 100 3-inch two-way satellite, $299-each BD 200 3-inch two-way
three-driver LCR, $550-each BD 300 Series II center-channel speaker, $650/pair

three-way four-driver center channel, the $1,495/pair BD 650 Series II 6.5-inch
three-way speaker, the $1,000-each BD 1100 4-inch three-way five-driver
floorstanding tower, and the $2,000-each BD 2000 Series II 6.5-inch three-way five-driver
