Thiel Gets Full-Time National Sales Manager

Lexington, KY –  Thiel Audio appointed industry veteran Stephen DeFuria as national sales manager following the appointment of Bob Brown, another industry veteran, as board member and interim COO.

With DeFuria’s hiring, the national sales manager position becomes full time.

DeFuria was most recently employed by Tempo High Fidelity as North American sales manager for Musical Fidelity, the U.K.-based manufacturer of audio electronics. For more than 10 years beginning in 2001, DeFuria was national sales manager for NAD Electronics, which is marketed by Lenbrook America and was led at the time by Brown. Brown was Lenbrook’s long-time president/CEO.

At NAD, DeFuria was responsible for all aspects of U.S. sales and marketing, including direct management of independent reps, training initiatives and trade show management.

Previously, DeFuria was the principal of Audio Vision, a Boston-area hi-fi retailer that he acquired in 1984. DeFuria remained in audio retailing for about 19 years, selling Thiel products for 15 of those years.

“Thiel’s board of directors and ownership group felt that a full time national sales manager would be one of the best investments we could make for the company at this time,” said CEO Bill Thomas.

Thomas was part of an investment group that purchased Thiel late last year.
