TCL Promotes Chris Cardenas; Brings On Brent Duke & Darren Napier

TCL announced a trio of executive moves on Thursday.

Chris Cardenas has been promoted to sales director for its multimedia business, while Brent Duke has been named sales VP for TCL’s home appliance division. Darren Napier has been brought on as a sales manager.

Cardenas, who helped launch TCL’s TV business in North America, will be tasked with continuing the company’s growth in the region. He previously spent 12 years at Toshiba.

“TCL has been one of North America’s fastest growing consumer electronics brands since we entered the market in 2014, and we are now one of the top television brands in the U.S.,” said Chris Larson, TCL senior VP. “Our ongoing success is largely contingent on our ability to attract and retain top talent, as well as deliver best-in-class products to our customers. Mr. Cardenas has played a significant role in establishing TCL as a leading television brand through strong retailer relationships and internal leadership, and we are excited to have Brent on board to help our home appliance division achieve this same growth and make TCL a household name.”

Duke will be in charge of defining sales strategies, building and growing retailer relationships, and managing the sales organization across a number of TCL products, including room air conditioners, portable air conditioners, dehumidifiers and ductless mini split systems. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the consumer goods industry, most recently as general manager at Danby.

“I am thrilled to be leading the TCL home appliance division’s sales organization,” said Duke. “TCL’s global and domestic growth the past few years has been exponential — a testament to the talented team and outstanding product lineup. I look forward to continuing TCL’s success for our home appliance products and further establishing TCL as one of the world’s premier consumer brands.”

Napier will be in charge of building relationships with retail partners and adding distribution where valuable. He comes to TCL from Jackson National.
