Park City, Utah — Skullcandy has named former Nike general manager Hoby Darling as its new president and CEO.

Rick Alden, the company’s founder who took the helm as interim CEO last month when Jeremy Andrus left, will stay on at Skullcandy, but no new title was given.

In a statement, Alden said, “On behalf of our board, I can't be more pleased to welcome Hoby to the Skullcandy team. The board is acutely aware of the needs of this organization and has moved swiftly to find the greatest resource to meet those needs … I look forward to working side by side with Hoby to build remarkable product, remarkable stories and this remarkable company.”

Prior to Nike, Darling was strategic development and general counsel senior VP at Volcom.

Skullcandy reported higher sales for its fourth quarter, which it attributed to higher sales for its Astro Gaming brand. Alden warned of lowered results for the upcoming first quarter, and said the company would be adjusting its road map, implementing a new packaging initiative, and making greater inroads into the Bluetooth category, among other things.
