Park City, Utah — Jeff Hutchings has joined Skullcandy as engineering and category VP, leaving his position at Harman International as director.
Hutchings will work alongside Tom Bishop, who been newly tasked with Skullcandy’s sourcing, quality, packaging and manufacturing groups and select product development projects.
Both of these changes are part of Skullcandy’s strategy “to further leverage our strong connection to youth,” said Hoby Darling, president/CEO.
“A few years ago we had less than 10 people focused on product, innovation, research and development, and quality. Today over a third of our workforce is dedicated to these critical areas. … The addition of Jeff along with Tom’s new role creates a world-class product development platform that immediately amplifies our vision and capabilities.”
Skullcandy was the No. 4 headphones seller in the U.S. in both 2013 and 2014, according to The NPD Group.
