John P. McCready, Former Marantz President, Dies At 68

John McCready, who served as president of Marantz America from 1996 until 2005, died yesterday in Chicago.

McCready’s technology career included positions at Linksys, Paradigm Electronics, Anthem and Harman Consumer Group.

He was a graduate of Chapman University. His passion and talent for the design of A/V products, painting and photography filled his spare time, and he truly enjoyed his career, his friends and family, said spokeswoman Roberta Lewis.

McCready is survived by his wife, Molly Gibson; two daughters, Megan Bowermaster and Erin McCready; and three beloved grandchildren: James, Nolan and Bryn Bowermaster.

A private memorial gathering in Denver with family and friends will be announced at a later date.
