Grace VanderWaal Makes Triumphant Return To America’s Got Talent, Advances To Semifinals

Updated! The CE industry has a new superstar and her march to greatness continues.

Grace VanderWaal, the remarkably poised and charming 12-year-old daughter of LG Electronics marketing chief Dave VanderWaal, made her second appearance on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” singing another original song accompanied by her ukelele — this time a song she wrote about her sister “and best friend” Olivia, entitled “Beautiful Thing.”

It’s been months since her debut performance on the show turned her into a viral superstar, with hundreds of millions of online views of her debut and her YouTube channel featuring her covers of popular songs and originals.

Tuesday’s highly anticipated return to the stage was a hit, as all four judges gave her a standing ovation after her song. Judge Howie Mandel predicted Grace will be “the biggest star to ever come out of the show.” And usually prickly Simon Cowell said: “There’s something so sweet and so charming about you and so real. I am going to predict we’re all going to remember the moment in years to come when we saw Grace sing live for the first time.”

Grace advanced to the show’s semifinals after America’s votes were tallied and announced on Wednesday night’s episode.

Good luck Grace!
