Ex-Electrolux Chief Jack Truong Lands Gig At Husky

Jack Truong, former head of Electrolux North America, has left the major appliance industry for a new job as president/COO of injection molding equipment maker Husky.

The Canadian company’s machines are used to manufacture a wide range of plastic products including bottles and caps for beverages, containers for food, medical components and consumer electronics parts.

“Having spent much of my career in the consumer products sector, I am familiar with the role packaging plays in influencing purchasing decisions,” Truong said.

A 22-year-veteran of 3M with a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, Truong took the helm of Electrolux’s North American division in 2011 as president/CEO, and served as an executive VP of parent company AB Electrolux Group, until his resignation last April.

During his tenure he upped the division’s marketing, development and distribution antes to drive sales and market share, particularly around the mass premium Electrolux brand.

His duties were assumed on an interim basis by corporate president/CEO Keith McLoughlin, who is set to retire at week’s end.

No successor to the North American business has been named.
