CEDIA Taps Vincent Bruno, Former Crestron Exec, As New CEO

CEDIA hired custom-install industry veteran Vincent Bruno as CEO.

The former Crestron executive takes the job next month.

CEDIA decided in May to hire a CEO after executive director Don Gilpin announced he would step down after 18 years with CEDIA. At the time, CEDIA also appointed longtime CEDIA veteran Tabatha O’Connor to the position of COO. The changes were made because the organization wanted “to better define its executive structure to best support the long-term goals of the organization,” CEDIA said at the time.

Gilpin is staying on until Bruno becomes CEO.

For the past seven years, Bruno was Crestron’s marketing director. He sits on the Consumer Electronics Association’s TechHome Division Board.

Before working at Crestron, Bruno was VP for VCOM International Multimedia, a distributor of professional A/V and digital equipment.

Bruno will report to the CEDIA board and work with it to “forge the strategic vision for the organization,” CEDIA said. Other key responsibilities include strategic planning and governance, forging of partnerships, membership development, communications and advocacy, and staff leadership.

CEDIA’s first CEO was Utz Baldwin, who served from Nov. 2008 through Dec. 2011. The position has been vacant since.
