AwoX Taps Bernstein For North American Sales

Palo Alto, Calif. – AwoX appointed Steve Bernstein to the new position of North American product sales director.

Bernstein will lead the company’s efforts to expand sales and distribution of its wireless home products in the U.S. and Canada.

He has more than 25 years of experience in sales management in the consumer electronics industry.

The French software company, founded in 2003, previously specialized in developing DLNA middleware but last year entered the market for wireless consumer products in Europe. In February, the company began shipping three products in the U.S., all at $99.

The three products include the AwoX StriimLight B-10 LED light bulb with built-in Bluetooth speaker. Another is the StriimLink Wi-Fi- and DLNA-equipped music streamer, which connects via wire to a home hi-fi system to create a multiroom multi-zone audio system. The third product is the Wi-Fi- and DLNA-equipped StriimStick, which turns an HDMI-equipped TV into a web-browsing Android tablet that downloads apps and streams 1080p video from computers and mobile devices.

The company plans to add LED lights with built-in Wi-Fi speaker.

Most recently, Bernstein was principal at Access Marketing Group, an independent manufacturer’s rep and sales consulting firm in the wireless communications and consumer electronics industries. For more than 15 years, he provided sales and account management for such brands as Body Glove and Otterbox.

Bernstein was also national sales manager of the telecommunications division at accessories supplier Gemini Industries. There, Bernstein designed and executed channel-marketing strategies and directed sales programs. He supervised more than 35 sales directors, account managers, and regional sales managers.

At AwoX, he joins business development and sales director Glenn Adler.
