Staten Island, N.Y. — P.C. Richard & Son, the New York metro area white- and brown-goods chain, will open its 50th retail showroom here next month.

The company will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location on Oct. 11, to be followed by a Manhattan reception to mark the retailer’s 98th year in business.

The industry’s largest family-owned and -operated CE and majap dealer began in 1909 as a Brooklyn, N.Y., hardware store. Despite its growth, P.C. Richard has steadfastly remained a single-region operation with stores throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester County and New Jersey.

The company had more than $1.2 billion in sales last year, according to TWICE’s Top 100 Retailers Report.
