N.J. - Panasonic has introduced three dual still and HD cameras with vertical
designs and two HD 3-inch touch LCD cameras, one that is waterproof, shockproof
The Dual cameras, models HX-WA10, HX-DC10 and HX-DC1, all
have an easy-to-hold vertical design, making it easy and seamless to shoot FullHD
videos (1,920 by 1,080) or photos -- without having to switch between the two
settings as there are separate video/photo capture buttons, Panasonic said.
The HX-WA10 is waterproof down to approximately 10 feet, and
the HX-WA10 and HX-DC10 models include Panasonic's Backside Illumination (BSI)
technology, which allows for optimal shooting in dimly lit conditions.
Panasonic's three new Dual Camera models record video in the
MPEG-4 AVC file format (MP4), which is convenient for uploading images to the
Internet or editing on a computer, the company said.
Beyond the FullHD video capabilities, the HX-WA10 and
HX-DC10 also offer 16-megapixel still photos, while the HX-DC1 takes
14-megapixel photos -- resulting in high-quality images. All three models can
take 2-megapixel still photos while shooting FullHD videos. All three models
have a 5x optical zoom.
Other features of the three new Panasonic Dual camera models
include a 2.6-inch-wide LCD monitor for the HX-WA10 and 3-inch-wide LCD monitor
for the HX-DC10 and HX-DC1, electrical image stabilizer to help limit blurry
videos, and face detection.
HX-WA10 comes in black, orange, blue; HX-DC10 in black; and HX-DC1
in white, pink and dark gray.
The three models will be available in June with pricing to be
announced about 30 days before shipping.
The HM-TA20, FullHD mobile camera is waterproof to
approximately 10 feet, shockproof to approximately 5 feet and dustproof. It
also has a Night View Mode for shooting videos and photos in low lighting.
The HM-TA20's small and compact size, combined with tough
exterior, makes the video camera ideal for portability, and it features a
3-inch touch LCD that Panasonic said is easy and intuitive to use.
The Panasonic HM-TA20 shoots in FullHD 1,920 by 1,080
videos, and records in the MPEG-4 AVC file format (MP4), which is convenient
for editing images with a computer and uploading files to the Internet.
The HM-TA20 includes an integrated USB terminal in its
compact body, and after editing images within the camera, the user connects the
camera to a computer and the built-in software will then launch automatically
upon connection (once the software is installed). The HM-TA20 can also be used
as a web camera.
Among selected other features of the Panasonic HM-TA20 are an
included tripod stand, 4x digital zoom, capability of 8-megapixel still photos,
E.IS (Electrical Image Stabilizer) during video recording, one touch recording
and face detection, the company said.
The HM-TA2 is also a compact and mobile camera with the same
features, except it is not waterproof, dustproof and shockproof.
Like the HM-TA20, the HM-TA2 features the Night View Mode
and a 3-inch LCD for easy and intuitive Touch Operation for such controls as
play, record, stop and zoom..
The HM-TA20 will be available in orange, while the HM-TA2
will be available in red, white and dark gray.
The Panasonic HM-TA20 and HM-TA2 will be available in June,
and pricing will be announced approximately 30 days prior to shipping.
