Panasonic took the wraps off a new Link-to-Cell system and announced all of its
2010 cordless systems will feature DECT 6.0 PLUS.
system, which was shown at a Panasonic press event last week but formally
announced Friday, uses Bluetooth to let users make and receive cellphone calls
using Panasonic's handsets. Up to two Bluetooth-enabled cellphones can be
paired to the system, and distinctive ring tones can be assigned to each
registered cellphone. Once paired, calls to either cellphone will ring on all
compatible handsets around the home.
The system is expandable
to up to six handsets.
include the ability to transfer up to 600 names and numbers from a cellphone
address book to the built-in handset directory, the ability to pair the system
with any Bluetooth-enabled headset, and DECT 6.0 Plus technology.

Mode is said to automatically reduce handset power consumption when used near

The KX-TG6500 series
($39.95 to $159) has a low-profile cordless base unit and the ability for four-way
conference. It is available with dial keypad on the base (KX-TG6540 series) and
digital answering machine (KX-TG6530 series).
The KX-TG4000 series
has several models, each with four-way conference capability, handset locator
and a digital answering system (except for the KX-TG4010). Suggested retails
range from $29.95 to $109.
