Onkyo is offering HDMI 1.4a inputs and outputs in previously announced A/V
receivers and home theater in a box (HTiB) systems to support 3D broadcast
content, the company said.

unveiled
its first three A/V receivers and first three home-theater receiver/speaker
packages with 3D-capable HDMI 1.4 inputs and outputs. Now the company is saying
the six products are actually shipping with HDMI 1.4a, which adds support for the
Side-By-Side (Half) and Top-and-Bottom 3D formats that broadcasters are adopting.
Like before, the devices are compatible with current 3D Blu-ray content.
The previously
announced products also support HDMI 1.4's audio return channel (ARC).
All other AVRs and
HTiBs that Onkyo will roll out this year will also feature HDMI 1.4a, the
company added.
he previously announced AVRs are the
$299-suggested 5.1-channel TX-SR308, $399 7.1-channel TX-SR508, and $599
7.2-channel TX-SR608. The receiver/speaker packages are the $379-suggested
5.1-speaker HT-S3300, $599 7.1-speaker HT-S5300, and $349 HTX-22HDX, which is a
