Center Valley, Pa. - Olympus introduced Wednesday new point-and-shoot digital cameras, including a new flagship model in the Tough all-weather series and a super-zoom model with FullHD 1080p video capability.

The TG-810 (shipping in April at a $400 suggested retail) is the new flagship in the Tough camera lineup. The camera is said to be freeze-proof, waterproof, shock-proof, crush-proof and scratch-resistant.

Included is a GPS unit and electronic compass, 14-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom (28-140mm equivalent), 720p HD video capture and a 3-inch, 920,000-dot resolution LCD.

Meanwhile, Olympus' latest super-zoom offering is the SZ-30MR, which the company said is capable of simultaneously capturing 1080p HD video and full-resolution still images.

The SZ-30MR (shipping in April at a $400 suggested retail) includes a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor, 3D recording, 24x optical zoom (25-600mm equivalent) and a 3-inch, 460,000-dot LCD display.
