Milpitas, Calif. - NuForce introduced the Dia, a digital audio converter (DAC) and amplifier for home A/V and streaming devices.

To operate, users connect their CE devices to the Dia's optical or coaxial digital inputs. According to the company, the Dia improves the device's audio since it bypasses the internal built-in digital-to-analog converters found in most A/V equipment and performs that function separately.

It can be used with a variety of devices, including TVs, satellite receivers, gaming systems and Blu-ray players. Features include a max sampling rate of 192kHz, 24-bit resolution, a 20Hz to 20,000Hz frequency range, an IR remote and a $299 suggested retail. It weighs 1 pound and is currently available.
