New York - Barnes & Noble took a page from Amazon's book and shipped its new Nook Tablet a day early.

The bookseller said the shipments are going to customers who pre-ordered the $249 Nook Tablet or placed one on reserve at a store.

The Nook Tablet has also been shipped to B&N store locations for sale.
