Anaheim, Calif. - Zyxel
Communications, a provider of broadband networking, Internet connectivity and
routing products, recently introduced the Aerobeam by Zyxel WirelessHD kit.
adapter lets users wirelessly connect up to four devices to their HDTV to
stream digital content, eliminating the need to anchor components adjacent to
the screen, the company said. The components can instead be placed anywhere in
scheduled for July at a $199 per kit street price.
The device reportedly
works with all HDMI devices, including Blu-ray players, DVD players, game
consoles, smartphones and tablets. Capabilities include full 1080p video
playback, 3D playback and 7.1 surround-sound audio.
It uses 60GHz millimeter
wave technology, said to eliminate interference from other wireless
technologies, and it also incorporates Silicon Image's WirelessHD technology to
deliver uncompressed and lossless HD digital video, audio and data.
The WHD6215 is the first
in a line of consumer A/V products that will be marketed under Aerobeam by
Zyxel, the company said.
