RONKONKOMA, N.Y. – Zoom North America recently introduced an audio-centric action video camera with 24-bit/96kHz audio capture to complement its 1080/30p FullHD video recroding
The Zoom HQ4 Handy Video Recorder (shipping now at a $299 suggested retail) features a removable LCD screen and offers an action-cam-style mount in addition to a more traditional tripod mounting screw.
The camera is billed as being equally adept at recording point-of-view ski trips and up-and-close music concerts.
Other features include SDXC memory card support to 128GB; support for HD, WVGA, AAC and WAV file formats; up to 1080p/30 fps video and 24-bit/96k audio; detachable full-color LCD; built-in speaker for instant monitoring; stereo mic/line-level input and line-level/headphone output with dedicated volume control; built-in 120-degree X/Y microphone; and three-position mic gain switch with auto-gain control and peak LED to help prevent signal overload.
The Q4 has a USB port that supports live streaming to DAWs, iMovie, Final Cut Pro or included HandyShare software.
