Berlin – Zero1.tv,
a provider of user interfaces for home entertainment, introduced the VooMote
One this week, a device designed to convert an iPhone or iPod Touch into a
universal remote.
When the VooMote
is paired with its free app and attached to the iPhone or Touch, users can
reportedly control their A/V devices and create personalized and multiple
device remote control layouts. This allows the volume of one device to be
lowered when another one is turned on, for example.
Features include a
setup wizard, the ability to group devices by location, and a Teach-In feature
for learning new devices. According to Zero1.tv, the VooMote One automatically
captures more than 30,000 IR codes, and it currently knows 574 TV brands, 995
cable box/DVR brands, and 151 audio and CD brands. The company said the
database is “constantly being updated.”
It will be
available Aug. 5 for $99.
