XStreamHD, EchoStar Extend Deal

McLean, Va. –

XStreamHD

said Tuesday it has reached a
long-term agreement with

EchoStar Satellite
Services

to increase the capacity for its high-quality
entertainment-on-demand services on the AMC-16 satellite.

XStreamHD is using capacity on the
EchoStar-leased AMC-16 satellite that is centrally located at 85 degrees west
longitude. Under the new deal, XStreamHD will increase its capacity as its
transport needs grow over time, the company said.

The satellite
offers full coverage capacity of the continental U.S. among other regions.

The two companies
have been working together for the past two years as XStreamHD completed the
operational testing of transport technology.

XStreamHD offers
movies and TV programs in up to Blu-ray-quality Full 1080p HD video resolution
and music formats in multiple formats, including FLAC.

The system uses
Fixed Service Satellite (FSS) capacity from the AMC-16 satellite to transport
multiple streams of Pre-Fetched Entertainment (PFE) to a subscriber’s XStreamHD
media server.

The system was
designed to offer on-demand program in higher quality than Internet-based
system are capable of offering, without the stops or starts resulting from
bandwidth constraints on the most popular content.

Movie titles are
automatically placed in a user’s personal library on the home-based media
server.
