XM Exceeds 200,000 Subscribers

Washington, D.C.- XM Satellite Radio has signed up more than 201,500 total subscribers, achieving its market projections despite a sluggish third quarter in consumer electronics overall.

The company also confirmed that General Motors is now rolling out XM as factory installed equipment in 25 models and that GM expects to enable 350,000 to 400,000 XM subscribers for the 2003 model year.

“XM is about to move into the automotive mainstream in a very big way,” said Gary Cowger, president of GM North America. Honda is also offering XM in the Accord, Pilot and Acura MDX and Nissan is offering XM as well as Sirius Satellite Radio in several models.
