XM Adds New Marketing Execs

Washington — XM Satellite Radio made several management changes to strengthen marketing in the automotive and retail sectors, as its subscriber base in both sectors continues to grow, said XM president/CEO Hugh Panero.

Current sales and marketing executive VP Steve Cook will take the new post of automotive executive VP, where he will focus on XM’s partnerships with General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan and others. The company expects the number of factory-installed XM radios to double in the next two years.

XM also said it will announce a new chief marketing officer, also a new post, in the coming months. The company further announced appointments to two additional new positions. My-Chau Nguyen, formerly of Sprint Nextel, joins XM as marketing senior VP for planning and research, and Sean Connolly, formerly of Intel, has been named brand management and media VP. Both will report to the new chief marketing officer.
