Wolverine Intros Photo-Oriented PMP

Irvine, Calif. — Mobile memory product manufacturer Wolverine Data introduced a portable media player (PMP) targeted at professional photographers and prosumers.

The ESP PMP features a 3.6-inch TFT LCD display and will be available in 80GB and 120GB capacities for suggested prices of $399 and $499, respectively.

The PictBridge-enabled PMP supports viewing JPEG, BMP, TIF and RAW image files, with zooming and rotating. It offers a 7-in-1 card reader for CompactFlash, MicroDrive, SD/MMC, Memory Stick (including Pro) and xD Picture Cards.

Wolverine will offer an optional adapter for Memory Stick Pro DUO, Mini-SD and RS-MMC cards.

The unit can record video from a TV or other video sources with an optional cradle ($79.99). The unit supports MPEG-1, MPEG-4, WMV9 and Xvid video formats. On the audio side, it features built-in speakers and supports the MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC and CDA formats. It features a built-in FM radio, the broadcast from which can be recorded by the PMP’s hard drive.
