WirelessHD Cites Gains At CEDIA Expo

CEDIA Expo 2009 Atlanta
– WirelessHD technology is appearing in products from Panasonic, LG
Electronics, Gefen and Monster Cable here at the CEDIA Expo, and more
WirelessHD products will appear this year with Best Buy’s planned launch of a
private-label WirelessHD adapter kit, the WirelessHD Consortium said.

WirelessHD sends uncompressed HD video up to 33 feet away with a
resolution of up to 1080p at 60Hz to TV displays from cable boxes, Blu-ray
players and other video sources connected to a WirelessHD transmitter. The
transmitter can be placed away from a flat-panel TV in a less conspicuous
place.

Here at the show, LG is showing LH85 and LHX LCD TVs with
built-in WirelessHD receivers, and Panasonic is showing its Z1 plasma TV series
with WirelessHD technology. For their part, Gefen and Monster Cable are showing
WirelessHD transmitter/receiver adapters.

These products will be joined soon by a WirelessHD adapter set
from Best Buy under its private-label Rocketfish brand, the consortium said.

Consortium members include Best Buy, Broadcom, Intel, LG, Monster
Cable, Panasonic, NEC, Philips, Samsung, SiBEAM, Sony and Toshiba.
