Wilson Taps DSI For Cell-Amp Sales

St. George, Utah — Wilson Electronics has expanded distribution of its in-home cellular amplifiers and antennas to include DSI, the largest national distributor of DirecTV service.

Wilson already sells through a number of distributors and dealers, mostly mom-and-pop shops but also including online stores and RadioShack franchise stores. With the addition of DSI, Wilson is able to reach small, independent satellite-TV dealers who can offer installation, a Wilson spokeswoman said. “DSI is fully focused on small, independent satellite-TV dealers,” she said. The dealers are about equally split between rural and urban stores.

Last September, Wilson launched a cellular-signal booster designed for both in-vehicle and in-building use. The SignalBoost Mobile Professional, available in four kit configurations from $259 to $279, is targeted to business travelers who conduct business from vehicles, hotel rooms, airports, offices and homes. To power it up, users plug the amplifier into a 110-volt outlet in a home or building, into a car’s cigarette lighter via an adapter or into a laptop’s USB port.
