Wilson Readies LTE Signal Booster for CTIA Show

New Orleans –

Wilson Electronics

, the supplier
of cellular signal boosters for consumers, is going to tomorrow’s CTIA Wireless
2012 with its second in-car 4G LTE signal booster.

The Sleek 4G-A boosts
all carriers’ 3G and 2G cellular voice and data signals in the 800/1900MHz bands,
as well as AT&T’s 700MHz LTE data signals. It can also be used indoors with
an optional accessory kit to boost the indoor strength of AT&T’s LTE data
signals. It will be available in the third quarter at an expected retail of
$129.

The device will
join the Sleek 4G-V, an in-vehicle signal booster that offers the same features
and form factor as the 4G-A but amplifies Verizon’s 700MHz LTE data signals
instead of AT&T’s 700MHz signals. The Verizon version will be available
soon.

In the car, both
models take the form of a cellphone cradle with built-in signal booster and
exterior-mount antenna. The form factor is designed for use with a Bluetooth
headset or other hands-free device.

Both models
amplify cellphone signals by more than 20 times but, like other Wilson
boosters, feature cell-tower protection technologies to prevent interference
with other phone conversations, the company said. Both weigh 3 ounces and are
2.5 by 4.5 by 2.5 inches in size.
