Hopedale, Mass. - British speaker
brand Wharfedale left the U.S. market in 2006, but is reentering through
distributor Sound Import.

The debut will take place at
CEDIA Expo to display the Opus and Diamond series of in-room speakers and
demonstrate the Achromatic series.

The Achromatic series of slim
speakers consists of 14 SKUs, including five home theater speaker systems
priced from a suggested $699 to $1,699. They're built from two wall-mountable
LCR-surround satellites at $169 and $229/pair, two floor standers at $469 and
$599/pair, two wall-mountable center channels at $149 and $249 each, a wall-mountable
three-channel unpowered soundbar at $359 each, and two powered subwoofers at
$449 and $649. They're available in high-gloss piano black with leatherette
trim. All but the subwoofers are 2.99 inches deep, and all wall-mountable
models can be installed vertically or horizontally.

Wharfedale's parent company is
International Audio Group (IAG).

The brand's Opus speakers are the
flagship models with in-room speakers priced up to $6,999/pair. The Diamond
series features the company's signature curved cabinets.

Other series include the entry-level
Vardis series and the Evos series with real wood veneers.

The brand also offers two in-wall
speakers, three in-ceiling speakers, two outdoor speakers, and a single-speaker
stereo model.
