Orange, Calif. – Westinghouse Digital
said Tuesday it is shipping a 55-inch LCD HDTV positioned to attract
value-conscious holiday shoppers.
Model VR-5585DFZ ($979 estimated street
price) features full 1080p HD resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate with MEMC
(motion estimation/motion compression) technology for smooth motion
images, three HDMI inputs, two
component-video inputs and analog A/V connections. It uses CCFL backlighting.
The set has a host of picture
enhancements, including 3D noise reduction, inverse 3:2 pull-down for
flicker-free movies, three-way and selectable color temperature.
Also added are parental control, sleep
timer and PC input.
