WD Ships New HD Drives

Lake Forest, Calif. - Western Digital today introduced three new
external hard drives under its Essential brand line.

The three drives, all USB 3.0-equipped, are the My Passport
Essential portable hard drive, the My Passport Essential SE portable and the My
Book Essential external hard drive.

The 500GB My Passport Essential is available now with a $99
suggested retail price. It is the smallest drive shipped by Western Digital,
and it comes in five colors: Midnight Black, Cool Silver, Real Red, Pacific lue
and aArctic White.

The SE version comes in 750GB and 1TB for $129 and $169 and comes
in black, silver, metallic blue and metallic red.

The desktop model has four SKUs at 1TB, 1.5TB, 2TB and 3TB
capacities with prices ranging from $129 to $249.

All the drives come with Western Digital's SmartWare backup
