WD Debuts 1TB Portable Drive

Lake Forest, Calif. - Western Digital today introduced two
internal portable hard drives, one with a 1TB capacity.

The Western Digital Scorpio Blue 750GB and 1TB are based on SATA
2.5-inch platters. Each has a 3GBps data Western Digital's 1TB Drivetransfer rate and can be used in any
notebook, as well as mobile storage devices like Western Digital My Passport,
the company said.

The drives incorporate Western Digital's WhisperDrive, ShockGuard
and SecurePark technologies.

The drives are available immediately with the 1TB version
carrying a $249 suggested retail and the 750GB priced at $189.
