Walmart Holds Pre-Holiday CE Sale

Bentonville, Ark. – Walmart is kicking off the holiday
selling season this Saturday with a sale on select CE and toys.

The retailer is also offering consumers an early preview of
its top Black Friday specials by signing up on Walmart’s website and Facebook
page.

Saturday’s CE specials include:

  • a Sanyo 42-inch LCD TV for $398 from $448;

  • a Vizio 42-inch LED TV for $498;

  • an LG 47-inch LED TV for $698;

  • the Nook Color, for $199 from $249;

  • an Xbox 360 250GB console with Kinect for $399
    plus a $50 Walmart gift card; and

  • an Xbox 360 4GB console with Kinect for $299
    plus a $50 Walmart gift card.

“Christmas is in full swing at Walmart,” which will also be “the
Black Friday destination for the best prices on the hottest gifts, including
brand name electronics and toys,” said chief merchandising officer Duncan Mac
Naughton. “We know shoppers are watching every penny this season, so we’re
sharing our Black Friday specials early this year so they can plan ahead and
deliver a wonderful Christmas for their families.”

Other holiday inducements include a price guarantee between
Nov. 1 and Dec. 25 on identical items advertised for less at another store; a
layaway payment plan; no interest on any purchase made in November and December
with a Walmart credit card if paid in full within six months; free shipping
offers on nearly 95 percent Walmart.com’s assortment; and, to encourage store
visits, a 10-cent-per-gallon discount on gasoline at the more than 1,000
Walmart locations with filling stations.

Separately, Walmart’s warehouse club sibling Sam’s Club has
launched a tablet- and smartphone-friendly holiday-planning site at
SamsClub.com/gifts that will allow customers to sign up for email, text or
mobile alerts of daily “holiday values” including TVs and video games.

Sam’s has also enhanced its free shopping app for iPhone,
Android and Blackberry to improve the mobile purchasing process and allow
smartphone users to create custom shopping lists; view store maps and layouts;
purchase, renew and upgrade memberships; and view paperless coupons.
