VTech Bows Web-Connected Products

VTech is adding Web-connected laptops and handhelds to its line of kid-targeted learning toys in 2008.

The CyberSpy Notebook, aimed at kids age 6 and up, is said to let the user take on the role of a “Cyber Spy.” The device offers more than 100 activities that teach math, logic and a number of languages including English, Spanish, German and French. The notebook can be connected to a parent’s computer in order to download new content and users can visit the online “Cyber Spy Headquarters” using a USB cable to access a secure online community, play additional games or post high scores. The notebook will be available in the fall at a suggested retail of $79.99.

Also new from VTech this fall will be the Cyber Rocket for kids ages 6 and up. The handheld device offers 40 brainteasers games to test skills in math, logic, spelling, problem solving and more. Kids can play alone or against other Cyber Rocket players when the device is connected to a PC. Users can also download new games online. The device will carry a suggested retail of $49.99.
