Vidikron Demos THX 1080p DLP

DENVER — Now under the Planar ownership umbrella, Vidikron (booth 510) is showing at CEDIA its new Vision model 110 1080p DLP projector, which the company said is now ready to ship.

The model offers Vidikron’s superwide CinemaScope technology and THX Certification status.

In addition, the Vision Models 85, 110 and 120 are to be THX certified, joining Vidikron’s 720p Vision Models 90 and 100, which have been re-badged Vision Model 90t and 100t to reflect their THX status.

Vidikron Vision 110 (starting at $39,995 suggested retail) offers 1920 by 1080 (1080p) resolution using three DLP DMD chips to present rich colors, deep lack levels and refined detail. Also included is Imagix video processing.

Vidikron’s CineWide (fixed) and CineWide with AutoScope (motorized) lens technologies are available on the Vision Model 110. This proprietary combination of software, electronics and anamorphic optics, properly displays movies filmed in the CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio. CineWide fills the entire screen with imagery, eliminating distracting “black bars” from the top and bottom of the screen while maintaining constant vertical screen height. CineWide preserves picture resolution on the DLP imaging chips.

The Vision Models 110 offers a full range of precision lens options and is equipped with generous electronic horizontal and vertical lens shift for use with multiple screen sizes, room environments and applications. In addition, the projector has substantial light output capabilities making it suitable for larger screen sizes and applications where higher ambient light levels are present.

Input connections include HDMI digital video and RS-232 control connectivity. Vidikron projectors were also engineered to meet Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) standards.
