Verizon Adds Sub-$100 4G LTE Phone From LG

Basking Ridge,
N.J. – Verizon Wireless is expanding its selection of sub-$100 4G LTE smartphones
with the March 29 availability of LG’s Lucid at $79.99 after a $50 mail-in
rebate.

It will be the carrier’s first LG LTE phone to
launch at less than $100, a spokesman said, and will join around a dozen LTE
phones available for the Verizon network. At $79, the LG Lucid will join
several other LTE smartphones currently retailing for $99 or less, including
the $99 Samsung Stratosphere, $49 Pantech Breakout (launched at $99) and free
Droid Charge.

The LG Lucid
features a 4-inch touchscreen, Android 2.3 OS upgradable to Android 4.0, 1.2GHz
dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear-facing autofocus camera with
flash and FullHD video capture, front-facing video-chat camera, a Video
Producer app to create and edit HD videos right on the phone, Virtual QWERTY
keyboard with Swype technology, and DLNA certification to share music and video
with other DLNA devices.

The purchase price
requires a two-year contract for a voice plan starting at $39.99/month and a
smartphone data package, which starts at $30/month for 2GB of data.
