Fremont, Calif. - UMAX Technologies reported today that it will renew its efforts to break into the computer category with the introduction of a high-end system targeted at computer enthusiasts and business customers.
The new computers will be officially introduced next week at PC Expo in New York.
To take advantage of UMAX's scanner technology, the PCs well be optimized for high-end graphics and 3D rendering, the company reported. Specifications for the new PCs were not fully released, but will start with a model powered by an Intel Pentium 4 1.4GHz processor.
Previously, UMAX made and marketed Apple clones, but was forced to stop several years ago when Apple rescinded all licenses to outside manufacturers.
