Toshiba Updates Camileo Line

Irvine, Calif. – Toshiba introduced Tuesday two new additions to
its expanding Camileo compact digital camcorder line.

The Camileo P100 ($180 suggested retail) and Camileo B10 ($120) are
billed as affordable and ultraportable 1080p FullHD camcorders.

Both are compatible with Windows and Mac OS systems, and add
16-megapixel still photo capability. Both allow consumers view videos and still
photos directly on an HDTV via the HDMI port, and to quickly share videos and
photos on social-networking sites using an Internet upload button (for
Windows-based systems).

Features in both include motion detection, time-lapse shooting,
face tracking and a webcam mode.

The pistol-shaped P100 weighs 4.7 ounces and has a 5x optical
zoom at 16-megapixel resolution in still photo mode. Resolution is enhanced
using line interpolation.

In video mode, the P100 is capable of an 8x advanced zoom that
extends the optical zoom for greater range, with sharp focus, Toshiba said.

The model also includes pause recording, allowing pausing and
resuming during recording to create one continuous file instead of multiple files
for easier uploads to social-networking sites.

Image stabilization supports up to full 1080p HD format videos, and
there is a swiveling 3-inch diagonal LCD touchscreen display

The Camileo B10 features a candy-bar pocket design with a 2-inch
diagonal LCD screen. It weighs 3 ounces and includes a 16x digital zoom.

“We’ve received great consumer response to our Camileo line,
which has encouraged us to continue expanding the line,” stated Paul Collas,
Toshiba America Information Systems, digital life products and services
director of accessory marketing. “Toshiba prides itself on creating products
packed with key features that meet consumers every day needs and are available
at all price ranges, and the Camileo P100 and Camileo B10 are prime examples of
just that.”
