Toshiba Names Nishida President

Tokyo — Toshiba Corp. today named corporate executive VP Atsutoshi Nishida president, replacing Tadashi Okamura who will become chairman after the company’s shareholders votes on the move in June.

Nishida has overseen Toshiba’s personal computer division since 2004, and he has held executive positions for Toshiba in North America and Europe. The company is currently the third-largest maker of notebook computers in the world.

With Okamura taking over as chairman, Taizo Nishimuro, the current chairman, will become a company advisor.
