Toshiba Announces ‘First’ 32GB SDHC Card

Tokyo — Toshiba Corp announced with Toshiba America Electronic Components, its subsidiary in the Americas, three new memory cards, including what the companies are hailing as the first 32GB SDHC memory card.

Toshiba also introduced a 16GB SDHC card and an 8GB microSDHC card. All three cards meet the Class 4 specification in the SD Speed Class, said Toshiba in a release.

The 16GB SDHC card will be available in October, and the 32GB SDHC card and 8GB microSDHC card will be launched in January 2008.

The SDHC cards have maximum write speeds of 6MBps and minimum sustained data write of 4MBps. Meanwhile, the microSDHC can store 139 hours of music at a bit rate of 128kbps, with a minimum sustained data write of 4MBps.
