Toshiba Adds Ultra-Compact DLP Projector

Irvine, Calif. — Toshiba’s digital products division introduced an ultra-portable DLP projector targeting mobile presenters, business users and consumers.

The TDP-PX10U weighs 2.9 pounds and is designed to fit into a briefcase or carry-on luggage. It is now shipping for an estimated selling price of $999.

The projector features 2,200 ANSI lumens of brightness XGA, 1,024 by 768 native resolution and a 2,000:1 contrast ratio.

Added is a USB port for “PC-free” presentations and video games. The projector also features a DLP BrilliantColor technology that uses six separate colors: red, blue, green, cyan, yellow and magenta for a wider variety of accurate, vibrant colors that won’t fade over time. BrilliantColor technology enables up to a 50 percent increase in the brightness of colors.

Connectivity options include a two-watt speaker for enhanced presentations. The projector comes with a fully-loaded remote control and the unit can be hooked up to a cable or satellite set-top box for viewing high-definition television.

The TDP-PX10U is shipping to authorized distributors, value-added reseller, mail-order outlets and www.toshibadirect.com.
