Alviso, Calif. –
officially has changed the name of its
TiVo Premiere Elite DVR product and service to TiVo Premiere XL4, effective
April 22.
The company
explained that name change now more closely aligns the TiVo Premiere XL4 with
the rest of the TiVo Premiere family.
The TiVo Premiere
has two tuners and 500GB of recording space. The TiVo Premiere XL has two
tuners and 1TB of recording space, and the TiVo Premiere XL4 has four tuners
and 2TB of recording space.
“We feel this new
name will help alleviate customer confusion as they shop among TiVo Premiere
products and determine which one is the best fit for their needs,” a
spokesperson said.
Retail locations,
including Best Buy, have started using terminology in stores.
