TiVo Enhances iOS Apps With Facebook

Alviso, Calif. - TiVo said Thursday that it is updating its
iPhone and iPad apps to include additional integration with Facebook.

The company said
the changes will increase TiVo's social TV functionality by enabling greater
interaction and sharing, as well as expanding entertainment selections.

Using the social
TV integrations, users will be able to see what programs their Facebook friends
"Like" and view what shows their friends are currently viewing with the Watch
feature, and immediately schedule a recording or watch live based on the
recommendations, TiVo said.

Users will be able
to interact live with their social graph to discuss shows, movies and online
videos they are enjoying simultaneously, whether they are TiVo subscribers or

The company said the
complete set of new features will launch on the TiVo app for iPhone and iPad
later this year, bringing to iOS full TiVo functionality and real-time
information on programs being viewed.
