The Epoq line of flat-panel HDTV sets and monitors will make its CEDIA debut under the banner of Titan Global Commerce.
Titan Global Commerce, run by former directors of S2, which distributed the Luce and Helios television brands, is relaunching under a new name, but will retain product development expertise that produced the Luce lines, said Daniel Sparrow, Tital Global’s president.
Epoq launched several months ago with one of the industry’s first lineups of fully integrated flat-panel high-definition plasma sets, and is expanding with LCD and plasma monitors. All models feature the company’s distinctive sleek styling with brushed aluminum and stainless steel cabinets.
Currently, the company is going to market with two sales representative teams, including CT Sales, which is based in Lexington, Ky., and serves 23 states, and Associated Net, which is based in Sacramento, Calif., and handles four Northwestern states.
Sparrow said that distribution will be focused on custom installers, with some limited sales to A/V specialty dealers.
All of the brand’s flat-panel models incorporate Faroudja DCDi video processing.
The company’s plasma offerings will include the 42W-inch, 50W-inch and 63W-inch screen sizes.
LCD TVs include the 30W-inch and 40W-inch screen sizes.
Highlights in the line include HDTV plasma HDTV sets with integrated ATSC tuners in the 42W-inch, 50W-inch and 63W-inch screen sizes.
The STV-42A2 ($4,295) is 42W-inch plasma HDTV set featuring an integrated ATSC tuner, an NTSC tuner, and integrated scaler and video processor with DCDi 3:2 pull-down conversion.
The panel offers a native resolution of 1,024-by-768 pixels, 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,000 cd/m2 brightness. Inputs include HD component video and DVI with HDCP.
The HTV-50A2 ($10,995) is a 50W-inch model with 1,365-by-768 resolution integrated ATSC and NTSC tuners, picture in picture (PIP), scaling and video processing with DCDi 3:2 pull-down film detection, and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. Inputs include HD component video, DVI with HDCP and VGA.
The HTV-63A2 ($22,995) is a 63W-inch plasma panel with 1,365-by-768 resolution, built-in ATSC and NTSC tuners, PIP and built-in scaling with DCDi 3:2 pull-down film detection. Brightness is listed as 850 cd/m2 and the contrast ratio is 950:1.
Epoq also carries a pair of EDTV level 42W-inch plasma panels with integrated NTSC tuners. Model STV-42A0 ($3,995) offers 853-by-480 pixel resolution, one NTSC tuner and a 1,500:1 contrast ratio. The STV-42A2 ($4,295) steps up to dual NTSC tuners, 853-by-480 native and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,000 cd/m2 brightness.
Also offered is Epoq’s Renaissance Series of tunerless HDTV plasma monitors.
The 42W-inch HVM-42A3 ($5,995) features 1,024-by-768 resolution, while the HVM-50S2 ($8,995) is a 50W-inch verstion with 1,366-by-768 resolution.
In LCD TV, the company offers models in the 30W-inch and 40W-inch screen sizes.
The HTV-30A1 ($4,495) is a 30W-inch LCD TV with 1,280-by-768 native resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, built-in NTSC tuner, and picture-in-picture with split-screen function. Brightness is listed as 450 cd/m2 and the contast ratio is 400:1. Inputs include HD component video and VGA.
The HTV-40A2 ($8,995) is a 40W-inch LCD TV with dual NTSC tuners, PIP, and 1,280-by-768 pixel resolution.
