Montebello,
Calif. - Theta Digital has begun shipping a $1,995 12-channel AES/EBU digital
output card for its flagship Casablanca III HD preamp/surround
processor.

The balanced-output card enables
connection to outboard digital-to-analog converters (DACs), such as Theta's Generation
VIII Series 3, to improve performance. The card supports 24-bit/192kHz signals.

The
card "adds flexibility to the platform and brings Casablanca III HD owners one
step closer to the original signal," the company said.

The base price of the card is a
suggested $13,745.

Theta is owned
by audio-component supplier
Amplifier Technology, which also owns the
B&K Components, ATI, AudioAccess and BGW brands.
