Terry To Become Interim Niles President

4/20/2010 11:22:37 AM Eastern

Miami - Mark Terry, president of the new business unit overseeing
three Linear-owned custom-install companies, will become interim president of
Niles Audio following the planned departure of Frank Sterns on April 23.

Sterns, an 18-year Niles
veteran, said his decision to leave Niles was
"completely my decision and my timing" and noted that "the people at [Linear
parent] Nortek have been nothing but great to me."

"It seems like the right time" to "take a few months off to
explore the world, he said, noting that he has turned 50, is single, and has no
children. "The circumstances all support taking some personal time to do
something that's really exciting to me." The timing, he added, "will give him
[Terry] room to do what he needs to do."

After an extended vacation of a few months, including a bike tour
of Europe, Sterns said he will probably return
to the custom-install or consumer electronics industries.

Earlier this month, Nortek-owned Linear placed Niles,
Xantech and Elan Home Systems into a single
business unit
to increase collaboration and efficiencies. Linear-owned
brands not part of the new group include Gefen, Imerge, OmniMount, Panamax, SpeakerCraft and others.

The new business unit, based in Calrsbad, Calif.,
is led by president Mark Terry, a 17-year Harman International veteran who most
recently was president of the Harman Pro Group. Reporting to Terry are Elan
president/chief technology officer Bob Farinelli, Xantech president Graham
Hallett, and, through Friday, Frank Sterns.

Linear has emphasized that the new business unit won't sacrifice
brand autonomy. "We aren't going to have the same sales team sell all three
companies' products," Elan president/chief technology officer Bob Farinelli previously
told TWICE
