Anaheim, Calif. — Targus has launched its SoundUP “high-definition” sound enhancer designed to improve the sound quality of compressed audio files on portable digital music players
The device separates and reprocesses digital music files, delivering a three-dimensional sound envelope from a portable music player.
“iPods and MP3 players represent one of the fastest-growing segments of the consumer electronics industry today,” stated Al Giazzon, marketing VP. “SoundUP delivers amazing sound quality giving consumers the ultimate portable music experience.”
The device incorporates Phantom Technologies-patented circuit, which enhances sound quality by up to 20 percent to 25 percent, revealing instruments and voices from original recordings that are typically lost during compression, the company said.
A powered audio-out splitter allows the use of two headphones and the in-line volume control provides easy audio control. The SoundUP comes with one AAA battery and measures 3 inches by 0.875 inches by 1.5 inches and weighs less than 2 ounces. The suggested retail is $29.99.
The SoundUP is immediately available at leading e-tailers as well as www.targus.com.
Targus introduced three MacBook bags yesterday.
