Syntax May Join Russell 3000

Tempe, Ariz. – LCD TV and LCoS rear-projection TV manufacturer Syntax-Brillian, citing a preliminary list of additions to the Russell Investment Group’s Web site, said it is scheduled to join the broad-market Russell 3000 Index when it is reconstituted on June 22.

Final membership in the index will be announced on June 25.

Membership in the Russell 3000, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the large-cap Russell 1000 Index or small-cap Russell 2000 Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes.

Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

“Inclusion in the Russell 3000 Index will be a significant milestone for Syntax-Brillian,” stated Vincent Sollitto, chairman and CEO. “As one of approximately 275 new additions to the index, we expect that the listing will further broaden our visibility within the investment community and promote greater awareness among retail as well as institutional investors.”

Syntax-Brillian produces aggressively priced LCD TVs under the Olevia brand and LCoS rear-projection sets for the international consumer electronics retail markets.

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies.
