Startup Nyne Readies 11 Speakers For Smartphones, Tablets

Oxnard, Calif. - Startup Nyne Multimedia, led by a former NetGear and Samsung
Semiconductor marketer, is preparing to roll out 11 portable and home audio
products designed to reproduce music from smartphones and tablets.

NYNE's NB-230 Bluetooth speaker doubles as hands-free speakerphone.

Nyne is meeting with key retailers and
distributors to launch the 11 products, which include two alarm clocks, three
portable AC/DC Bluetooth speakers, and six home audio products, including a
floor-standing tower that incorporates AM/FM tuner, CD player, iPod/iPad dock,
Bluetooth,  USB port, and SD Card slot.
It's expected to have a suggested retail of $999.

 All products are expected to ship by June.

The company is focused on
products that use handheld devices as music sources, deliver "superb
acoustics," and eliminate the clutter of components and cables, a spokesperson
said. The company is led by president Arman Arami, a Silicon Valley veteran
with 18 years of brand-development experience. He has been involved with the
brand development of more than 300 startups as well as with NetGear and Samsung
Semiconductor.

Another Nyne executive is sales and marketing
executive director Dan Roe, a 20-year Sony veteran whose Sony titles included
national sales manager and regional sales VP. He was also president of R&B
Sales and Marketing, a CE rep company, for five years.

The team's launch products will include a half-dozen
home-audio products, all capable of docking and charging iPads, iPhones, and
iPods. Five of the six also feature stereo Bluetooth, and all come with 3.5mm
aux in to connect to non-Bluetooth devices. All also feature video outputs, and
some feature USB port and SD Card slot.

The home line includes the
32.7-inch-tall floorstanding NH-6500, which features AM/FM tuner, CD player,
iPod/iPad dock on top, stereo Bluetooth, USB port, SD Card slot, composite and
S-video outputs, and black wood finish. The 2.1 system features two dome
tweeters and a subwoofer.

The NH-6000 tabletop model, at an
expected suggested $419, features iPod/iPad dock on top, Bluetooth, wood
cabinet, two-way stereo speakers, and composite and S-video output. The
tabletop NH-5500 at an expected suggested $569 features iPod/iPad dock in
front, Bluetooth, 2x60-watt RMS output, component-video output, four EQ
settings, and black-piano finish. And the tabletop NH-5000 at an expected
suggested $269 features front iPod/iPad dock, Bluetooth, 2x30-watt RMS output,
four EQ settings, component-video output, and black piano finish.

A fifth tabletop, the NH-3500, features front iPod/iPad
dock, Bluetooth, 2.1 speaker system, FM tuner, dual alarms  USB port, SD Card slot, piano-black finish,
and brushed-aluminum rotary controls. Its pricing was unavailable. The sixth
tabletop is the NH-3000 at an expected suggested $149. It features front dock,
FM, S-video output, matte-black finish, but no Bluetooth.

Some home speakers
are expected to ship in mid May, and others by June 20.

In Bluetooth speakers, the
company will offer three AC/DC models that double as hands-free speakerphones
and come with 3.5mm aux inputs. The NB-250 features two drivers, passive
radiator, 3.5mm aux in, and rechargeable battery. Its pricing was unavailable. The
NB-230 at an expected suggested $159 operates on six C batteries and features
two 3-inch drivers. The compact 2.95 by 5.7 by 3.38-inch NB-200 at an expected
$149 is equipped with adjustable handlebar mount, rechargeable battery, dual
drivers, passive radiator and Bluetooth AVRCP (audio video remote control
profile) to control track up/down on the Bluetooth-connected music source.

The two alarm clocks include the N-19 with AM/FM at an expected
suggested $159. It features an iPod/iPad-charging dock on top, dual alarms,
S-video output, and 3.5mm aux in. The N-9 at an expected $79 features iPod dock
on top, FM, and 3.5mm input.
