Sprint Offers Sirius Music To Customers

New York — Sprint announced today that 21 channels of Sirius music and related programming will be available to Sprint mobile phone customers.

Sprint will offer a new “Sirius Music” service on its multimedia handsets under the Music & Radio category.

The Sirius Music channel is the latest of three streaming music channels available on the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network through a built-in media player on Sprint PCS Vision Multimedia Phones. Customers can purchase Sirius Music by typing in channel 23 in the Sprint Media Player or by going to the Music & Radio folder and selecting the new channel. The service cost is $6.95 per month for unlimited access

Sirius Music includes pop, hip hop/R&B, rock, country, jazz, blues, Broadway, electronic and dance, as well as “hits” from the various decades from the ‘60s to the present.

Separately, Sirius said BMW North America of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., extended its agreement to offer Sirius service exclusively through August 2008. All BMW models are covered by the agreement.

Factory-installed Sirius satellite radios will continue to be available on the BMW 3-series sedan and sports wagon, and the BMW 5, 6 and 7 series, with a one-year bundled subscription included in the price of the vehicle.

Other BMW models, including X3, X5, Z4, M3, 3-series coupe and 3-series convertible, will continue to have Sirius available as a dealer-installed accessory. MINI will also continue to offer Sirius as a dealer-installed accessory, Sirius said.
