Sprint Joins In BlackBerry OS 7 Launch

Park, Kan. – Sprint will offer its first two BlackBerry 7 OS smartphones with
the fall launch of the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850.

The two
3G worldphones are among five models that Research In Motion has launched as part of its

largest
global BlackBerry product rollout

ever.

Pricing
and exact availability dates of Sprint’s two models weren’t disclosed.

The
Torch 9850 smartphone will be the first full-touch BlackBerry smartphone from
Sprint. It features the largest display ever on a BlackBerry at 3.7 inches.

The
Bold 9930 features a 2.8-inch touchscreen and fixed QWERTY keyboard.

 Both phones operate in 3G CDMA 1X EV-DO Rev. A
mode in the 800/1900MHz bands in the U.S. and in the 3G 2.1GHz UMTS band in
foreign markets. Both phones also feature 1.2GHz processor.

The
Bold 9930 and new Bold 9900, which Sprint isn’t launching, are the thinnest
phones ever launched by RIM with a depth of 0.41 inches.
